Chapman Outreach a Success!

Thank You Prayer Team!

In my last email to you, I asked you to pray for Chapman University and the upcoming outreach event with Dr. Hugh Ross.

Thank you so much for praying! God came through in a great way!

Thank you so much for praying

The talk helped to strengthen the faith of Christians and make the gospel more plausible to non-Christians. Student comments:

  • It was one of the best Christian defenses I've ever heard.
  • The talk was very interesting and it was extremely unique in how he was able to incorporate the Bible with science.
  • I believe it is very important for Christians to have a solid understanding of the science behind creation and I thought this talk really provided that.
  • I recently began to doubt the Bible because I couldn't find the scientific facts I needed to back up its claims. I also felt great pressure in my academic field as a Computer Scientist that Christianity was blind to science. Luckily Dr. Ross's talk gave me all those answers I was looking for. Would really love to hear him speak again!

Praise God!

The event was supported by FCA, Intervarsity, Cru and Young Life. A total of 90 people attended the dinner talk. About 40 were students (including about 15 who came because professors offered extra credit for attending the talk).  A number of faculty members attended and even a Chapman University board member. Comments were universally positive and people are asking for a follow-up as soon as we can.

By the way, I interviewed Dr. Ross prior to the dinner.  We got it on video.  When the video is available, I will let you know. I think you will find it interesting!

Thank you so much for praying

A big "Thank You!" to the student leaders of Fellowship of Christian Athletes (Courtney Krysl, Brittany Ballard and Luke Hamlin) for their work. The event could not have happened without them.

I also want to thank the men at CBMC of Orange who initiated this event and financially supported it, especially Scott McReynolds whose knowledge, experience and faith in the project were indispensable.

Thank you again for your prayers!  More to come!

May the Lord continue to bless you richly!
